Founding history

  • The Midrealm was formed on August 30, A.S. IV (1969), during the reign of King Henrik IV and Queen Leanne III of the West.

> The first crown tournament in the Kingdom of the Middle was held on July 4th, A.S. IV (1969) in Wilmot, Wisconsin. Cariadoc of the Bow won the crown tournament, with Diana Alene as his consort. Given as a personal commendation by the Crown on rare occasions when the other honors of the Kingdom do not adequately convey the esteem in which the individual is held by the Kingdom at large. The augmentation takes the form of the device of The Middle Kingdom, to be added to the individuals arms. Argent, a pale gules, overall a dragon passant vert, in chief an ancient crown Or within a laurel wreath proper.
Augmentation of Arms - Also the Royal Augmentation of Arms
Given as a personal commendation by the Crown on rare occasions when the other honors of the Kingdom do not adequately convey the esteem in which the individual is held. Each augmentation is a specific charge, to be added to the individual's heraldic arms. N/A
Order of the Sapphire
Given to individuals who exhibit courtesy, grace, and honor to people of all ranks and exemplify what it means to be the embodiment of the dream. It may be bestowed upon an individual more than once. It conveys no precedence. Recipients may place the initials RSL after their name. (Fieldless) A step-cut gemstone fesswise azure.
Award of the Dragon's Tooth
Given to those who have performed dramatic deeds upon the field of combat on behalf of the kingdom, or for leadership in melee combat above and beyond that normally expected. It is often awarded on the field at the time the deed was witnessed. Or, on a pale vert three fangs palewise Or.

Award of Arms
Given at the pleasure of the Crown, typically for service or skills. The recipients are known as armigers, and may use the title Lord or Lady before their name. N/A
Order of the Willow
Given to those who show proficiency, but not yet mastery, in one or more of the arts.
Conveys an Award of Arms. Purpure, a willow tree eradicated Or.
Order of the Silver Oak
Given to those who show proficiency, but not yet mastery, in one or more of the sciences or research.
Conveys an Award of Arms. Purpure, an oak tree blasted and eradicated argent fructed Or.
Award of the Purple Fret
Given to individuals for service to their group, office, or kingdom (originally given for autocratting a large event). This award was previously known as the Order of the Purple Fret (OPF).

In the Middle Kingdom, this honor is given to those who have served as great officers of state. They may display a dragon as a crest in their achievement of arms. N/A
Order of the Evergreen
This award is given to individuals who, in the sight of the Crown, have both taught and shown excellence in one or more of the Arts, Sciences or in research. Holders of the Order shall be entitled to place after their names the initials C.E., and may be styled and announced in precedence as Companions of the Order of the Evergreen. The Order shall confer upon the holder a Grant of Arms if that individual does not already have one. (Fieldless) A pine tree per pale purpure and Or.
Order of the Dragon's Heart
Given to those who have performed services on behalf of the kingdom above and beyond that normally expected.
Conveys a Grant of Arms Argent, a heart vert scaly argent.
Order if the Gold Mace
his award is given to Companions of the Order of the Red Company who, in the sight of the Crown, have shown both excellence and leadership in melee and/or tournament combat, and who have trained others in these skills. Holders of the Order shall be entitled to place after their names the initials C.G.M., and may be styled and announced in precedence as Companions of the Order of the Gold Mace. Those holders of the Order who have not been elevated to the Chivalry may also be styled and announced as Lieutenants of the Red Company. The Order shall confer upon the holder a Grant of Arms if that individual does not already possess one. Gules, two flanged maces in saltire within a bordure Or.
Order of the Bronze Ring
Given to individuals who, in the sight of the Crown, have shown excellence and leadership in rapier combat, and who have trained others in these skills. Holders of the Order shall be entitled to place after their names the initials, C.B.R. and may be styled and announced in precedence as Companion of the Bronze Ring.
Confers a Grant of Arms. Gules, two rapiers in saltire argent within an annulet Or.
Order of the Greenwood Company
Given for service, skill and leadership in Archery. Conveys a Grant of Arms. (Fieldless) Upon a hurst of pine trees vert, a pheon inverted Or.
Order of the White Lance
Given to individuals who, in the sight of the Crown, have shown excellence in two of three areas of equestrian activities; skill, service and the arts and sciences. Holders of the Order shall be entitled to place after their names the initials, C.W.L. and may be styled and announced in precedence as Companion of the White Lance. Confers a Grant of Arms. Youth Awards
Award of the Baton
This award is given to minors who have displayed skill and enthusiam in the Martial Arts. Or, a flanged mace bendwise sinister sable.
Award of the Dragon's Treasure
Given to honor youths who have rendered exemplary service to the kingdom. A dragon's gamb couped erect maintaining a roundel argent charged with a pale gules.
Award of the Silver Acorn
This award is given to minors who have displayed skill and enthusiasm in the Arts and Sciences. Argent, on a pale gules three acorns argent.
Group Awards
Award of the Grove
Similar to the Silver Oak and the Willow, this award is given to branches, guilds, or organized groups who have shown proficiency in the arts and/or sciences, or exemplary service in furthering such fields. Per pale Or and argent, a hurst purpure.
Award of the Purple Fretty
Similar to the Purple Fret, for service by branches, guilds, or other organized groups.
Conveys no precedence. Or fretty purpure.
Award of the Dragon's Teeth
Similar to the Dragon's Tooth, for groups who excel in fighting. Argent, on a dance between two broken dragon's teeth vert another argent.
Award of the Dragon's Flight
Similar to the Dragon's Barb, for groups who excel in archery. Argent, a pale vert scaly argent between four pheons vert.

Order of the Royal Vanguard
Given to those who have served the Crown as the King's or Queen's Champion.
Conveys no precedence. (Fieldless) A demi-dragon rampant argent.
Award of the Doe's Grace - renamed from Queen's Favor
Given for personal service to the Queen, or to those who have demonstrated courtesy and chivalry on or off the field, as well as kindness to those around them. This award was originally known as the Award of the Queen's Favor (AQF). Azure, a sword proper enfiled of a wreath of flowers argent, slipped and leaved Or.
Award of the King's Chalice
Given to individuals who, in the sight of the Sovereign, have displayed excellence and authenticity in their chosen field. (Fieldless) A chalice sable.
