Definition:

September 2015 - Throwing a default orientation for a fer-à-loup

This month, in the registration of Marcus atte Bowe, in the Ansteorra section of the Letter of Acceptances and Returns, the SCA's default orientation for this charge has been changed to match the medieval default. Thus, a fer-à-loup has the (rounded) blade to chief by default. We will reblazon the registered ones as needed. http://heraldry.sca.org/loar/2015/09/15-09cl.html#3

Conflict:

April 2007 LoAR - fer-a-loup vs crescent:

Frederich Karl Kyburg. Name and badge. Sable, a fer-a-loup inverted argent. ... This badge does not conflict with the device for Caitrin O'Maughan, Sable, a crescent inverted argent within an orle of trillium flowers inverted Or//, nor does it conflict with the badge for Medb of Rusted Woodlands, //Sable, between the horns of a crescent pendant a cloud argent. In each case there is a CD for removing the secondary charge(s). There is a second CD for the difference between a crescent inverted and fer-a-loup. Both are period heraldic charges and, since we have no evidence that they were used interchangeably, there is a CD between the two. http://heraldry.sca.org/loar/2007/04/07-04lar.html
