May 2010 - beehive vs. tower:

#172Antonia di Lorenzo. Per pale gules and vert, a tower between three bees Or. As charges which had independent existence in period, there is at least significant difference between a beehive and a tower. Therefore, this device is clear of the device of Roland of Skep Glen, Vert, a beehive between three bees wings close Or. There is a CD for the field and a CD for the change of type of primary charge. As substantial difference is not needed to clear this conflict, we decline to rule at this time on the question of whether there is substantial difference between a tower and a beehive. http://heraldry.sca.org/loar/2010/05/10-05lar.html

August 2004 - tower vs castle:

[(Fieldless) A castle fracted palewise gules.] This badge conflicts with Edwin FitzLloyd: Ermine, chaussé raguly vert, a tower gules. There is a CD for the field, but nothing for type between a tower and a castle. This was originally blazoned as a single-arched bridge, but as drawn this is far closer to a castle than a bridge. [Olaf Wulfbrandt, LoAR 08/2004, Atlantia-R]

December 2001 - tower vs chess rook:

"There is substantial difference between a tower and a properly drawn chess rook" [2001 LoAR]
