On February 29, 1984 (AS XVIII), Calontir became the tenth kingdom of the SCA.
Calontir holds lands in Kansas, Missouri, most of Nebraska, most of Iowa, and the Fayetteville area of Arkansas.
Calontir is Welsh for 'Heartland,' since that area of the USA is commonly known as the 'heartland.'

Silent Heraldry in Calontir
Silent heraldry is the art of using sign language to translate the proceedings of courts, classes, or combat situations to those who are either deaf or hard of hearing. Calontir is actively recruiting silent heralds, and anyone with even the slightest acquaintance with sign language is encouraged to contact the Goodhand Herald.
