Celtic has various meanings depending on context. The term is used to refer to a family of languages with ancient European origins that was encountered by the Romans as they expanded their empire northward.
The family includes Breton, British/Brittonic (not English), Brythonic, Cornish, Cumbric, Gaulish, Gaelic, Iberian, Irish, Manx, Pictic, Welsh...
