  • Zorya - alternate Revised English transliteration of Zoria, Russian masc. diminutive of given name Lazar', Ivanko Isakov Zoria 1576, s.n. Lazar', the 3rd Edition Wickenden's Dictionary of Period Russian Names.
  • Zaria - Russian masculine given name, means "dawn" in modern Russian, Zakharii Zaria 1618, s.n. Lazar', the 3rd Edition Wickenden's Dictionary of Period Russian Names.
  • Note that the ending -ia/-ya means that the above names are grammatically feminine. In Ukrainian mythology, the Zorya are the evening/morning star goddesses.
